It's December! Christmas season is officially upon us. We've had our tree and decorations up for a little while but now it still feels more official. Like the rest of the world is joining us in being ready to celebrate Christmas. It's nice.
We're prepping to head to Cincinnati in less than a week. We make a pitstop in Nashville on our way up and it all can't get here fast enough. I'm so ready for this trip. Not in the sense of actually being ready but in the sense of I'm so excited to go. I'm ready to hug my mom and dad, have coffee with my best friends, visit all of our favorite Cincy places and wrap my biggest scarf around my neck to keep warm. I miss Cincinnati. I miss all of the places Trey and I have such special memories at. I miss my friends I've known for 15 years. I miss knowing how to get around without my gps. I miss my brother's hugs (which are like the best hugs in the world). And I really, really miss seeing my babies playing with my bestie's babes.
So yeah, I really can not wait to come home.
We had a bit of a long week here so I'm planning a special dinner night in for us. I bought everything I need to make Julia Child's Boeuf Bourguignonne. I should mention that 'Julie and Julia' is top three favorite movies from me and Trey. It's basically a special version of a beef stew that's braised in red wine and mushrooms. It is exactly that though, special. I'm hoping it caps this very long week and invites a relaxing night.
Sarah and I had a last workshop planning meeting and to finalize a few details. After laying every last detail out, I'm even more proud to be a part of this event. I feel like it's going to be such a great experience for each and every person. That was the biggest reason for even wanting to put the workshop together; to create a beautiful experience that is rooted in wellness. I hope everyone coming feels every ounce of love we've poured into putting it together. Tickets are $20 and you can get them here: trueco.bigcartel.com
On to my faves //
Bring on allllll the Christmas movies for the next few weeks... am i right? Here's my favorite holiday films; some classic, some not.
- Home Alone
- Christmas Eve on Sesame Street (childhood favorite)
- Four Christmases
- The Holiday
- The Santa Clause
- How The Grinch Stole Christmas
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
- The Polar Express
- A Christmas Carol
Did I miss any? What are you favorite movies to snuggle up and watch during this season? We own most of these but I like watching some as they play on tv. It's nostalgia maybe? Anyway, here's the link to see when they all play on tv this month so you don't miss any. Click Here.
I mentioned above I was making a special dinner date night in meal this weekend. Trey bought me a copy of Julia Child's book several years ago. It's genius and the food is divine. In case you need a relaxing dinner date in too here's a link to her Boeuf Bourguignonne.
You probably know already that Cocokind is my choice skin care line. Sarah's too. They have really awesome gift sets for sale right now that make perfect gifts. I bought one for my sister and I'm so stoked for her to have it and fall in love with Cocokind too. They're calling them the Holiday Basics Beauty Sets. They include everything you need to start your routine fresh. And let me just say my new CCK love is their Sea Moss Exfoliator. It's so much more gentle than anything else I've tried in the past.
This is so basic but this time of year I am especially a fan of my oils. Some of my winter favorites are RC, Thieves + Immupower. Diffusing these helps with an immune boost + warding off illness. There is also a Breathe Again roll-on that is amazing if you end up getting sick. I clean with my Thieves Household Cleaner and my produce always gets a nice bath in the Thieves Fruit and Veggie Wash to help keep illnesses at bay year round. Seriously, can't rave enough about the Fruit + Veggie wash... it's GOLD! My last fave is the Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier. It's essential for traveling and keeping germs away with out all the chemicals in traditional hand sanitizer. I always have one on me.
I thought I would share a few photos from our Thanksgiving to wrap up this Femme Friday. Happy Friday!
